The motor vehicle maintenance, repair and service industry is clearly an “essential service”. Despite the importance of social distancing, the public must still take care of basic human needs such as food, safety and medical care. Continued operation of vehicles must therefore be considered necessary. Repair and maintenance facilities that keep these vehicles in operation are also clearly essential. Further, companies that provide the parts and services necessary to repair and maintain those vehicles are likewise essential or else all repair services will grind to a halt.
