Electronic Module Diagnosis and Repair
Modern vehicles have an assortment of computer modules distributed in a network across the vehicle. These modules are responsible for monitoring and controlling everything from passenger comfort systems to the vehicle’s most sensitive functions including brake and ABS. These computer modules are each responsible for a large number of circuits. The network of modules must have properly functioning communication channels to share data, mode and state with the others on the segment/array.

Powertrain Control Module
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM), or the engine control module (ECM), is responsible for the function of the engine and its accessory systems. Once replaced the PCM requires programming and configuration by a trained technician.
Instrument Cluster Module (ICM)
The Instrument Cluster Module controls the function and operation of the driver’s vehicle data display. The IPC receives data inputs from other control modules to display information including engine RPM, vehicle speed, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The instrument cluster also includes the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and an immobilizer indicator. If the IPC fails to communicate with the ECM and TCM, the MIL is continuously lit.
Body Control Module
The Body Control Module (BCM) is responsible for many functions both within the cabin and electrical control of ancillary systems. Once replaced the BCM requires programming and configuration by a trained technician.
